Ingredients
  

  • 6 ripped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp  kashmiri red chili powder / lal mirch powder
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp vinegar

Method
 

  1. Begin by briefly submerging the tomatoes in boiling water. For optimal results, select fully ripe tomatoes.
  2. Continue to cover and boil for 3 minutes or until the skin of the tomatoes begins to peel away.
  3. allow the tomatoes to cool thoroughly, then place them in the blender.
  4. blend the tomatoes without incorporating any water.
  5. Utilize a strainer to obtain the tomato puree while removing the seeds and peel from the tomatoes.
  6. In addition, blend and combine thoroughly.
  7. boil the mixture well.
  8. be sure to stir from time to time to avoid burning.
  9. further continue to boil for 10 minutes
  10. Incorporate ½ teaspoon of chili powder, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and salt to your preference.
  11. keep stirring till the tomato puree thickens.
  12. and in 3 tbsp vinegar, as they act as preservative.
  13. mix well and check for seasoning.
  14. finally, transfer the tomato sauce or tomato ketchup once cooled completely.

Notes

  1. To begin with, use thoroughly crushed tomatoes to achieve a vibrant color for the tomato sauce.
  2. Additionally, incorporate onions and garlic for enhanced flavor.
  3. Furthermore, add more sugar to offset the tanginess of the tomato.
  4. Ultimately, tomato sauce or ketchup is delicious when made in large amounts.
